INVENTORS: HEINI EBERLE, JOSEF HUBER INVENTION: METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR DRYING A MOIST MATERIAL ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE In the method for drying moist agricultural products, the relative humidity of fresh air inducted from the environment is reduced by heating it so that the fresh air can take up moisture from the products to be dried. A portion of the thermal energy contained in the moist exhaust air is extracted by the evaporator of a heat pump before the moist exhaust air exits to the environment. At temperatures below 10°C a portion of the moist exhaust air is mixed with the cold fresh air before being heated by the condenser of the heat pump.
