Steam (12) may be used to dry feedstock (16) prior to delivery to a gasifier (26). A steam (12) supply may be delivered to embodiments such as a feedstock dryer (18). Heat from the steam (12) may then be transferred into the feedstock (16) and used in drying the feedstock (16). Steam (12) pressures may include pressures from 75 pounds per square inch up to and including 900 pounds per square inch.
