A paving machine employs an electrically heated screed assembly to uniformly heat a screed plate of the machine. Uniform heating is achieved by inserting a thermally conductive plate between electrical heating elements and the screed plate. An insulation layer may be provided above the heating elements to direct the heat downward into the thermally conductive plate. The heat spreads relatively uniformly throughout the thermally conductive plate, thereby uniformly heating the screed plate. A clamping mechanism is also provided that, when tightened, provides a compressive force, thereby holding the assembly in place. When released, the pressure is alleviated, thus permitting a heating element to be removed for repair or replacement without the need to remove the screed plate.
L'invention concerne une finisseuse qui utilise un ensemble lissoir chauffé électriquement pour chauffer uniformément un plateau de lissage de la machine. Le réchauffement uniforme se fait en insérant un plateau conducteur thermique entre les éléments chauffants électriques et le plateau de lissage. Une couche isolante peut être apposée sur les éléments chauffants pour diriger la chaleur vers le bas dans le plateau conducteur thermique. La chaleur est diffusée de façon relativement uniforme dans l'ensemble du plateau conducteur thermique, ce qui réchauffe uniformément le plateau de lissage. Un mécanisme de serrage est également fourni pour exercer, lorsque serré, une force compressive, tenant ainsi l'ensemble en place. Lorsque le mécanisme est desserré, la pression est atténuée, ce qui permet de retirer un élément chauffant aux fins de réparation ou de remplacement sans devoir retirer le plateau de lissage.
