An apparatus for eliminating the flutter of a paper web (W) in the dryer section of a papermaking machine between two single felt configurations thereof comprises a vacuum transfer roll (4), around which a dryer fabric (F2) of a second configuration is adapted to wind and along which a transfer point is located. In addition, the apparatus includes blowing means, comprising a surface, located on the side of a section of a first configuration dryer fabric (F1) upstream of a contact point between said web (W) and said second configuration dryer fabric (F2) and facing said section of fabric (F1), as well as a fan (P2) and a space (13) connected therewith by way of a duct, for creating a vacuum between said section and the surface. The apparatus further includes second blowing means, comprising a fan (P1) and a space (34) connected therewith by way of a duct, said second blowing means being located on the side of a section of said first configuration dryer fabric (F1) released from the web, said means being adapted to produce an air flow through said fabric (F1) in an area downstream of said contact point.
