During initiation procedure between subscriber stations and access network adhering to CDMA standards, (e.g., IS-95 and IS-2000) the subscriber station receives a Sync Channel Message. Due to a design/manufacturing error, certain subscriber stations adhering to the IS-95 fail to ignore a portion of the Sync Channel Message, intended for a proper operation of subscriber stations adhering to the IS-2000. This causes a failure of the IS-95 subscriber stations' operation. The disclosed invention describes embodiments allowing the faulty subscriber stations to operate on an access networks build in accordance with both IS-95 and IS-2000 standards.

Selon l'invention, lors d'une procédure d'initiation entre des postes d'abonnés et un réseau d'accès adhérant à des normes AMRC (IS-95 et IS-2000, par exemple), le poste d'abonné reçoit un message de canal de synchronisation. Suite à une erreur de conception/fabrication, certains postes d'abonnés adhérant à la norme IS-95 n'ignorent pas une partie du message de canal de synchronisation destinée au fonctionnement correct de postes d'abonnés adhérant à la norme IS-2000. Cela provoque une défaillance du fonctionnement des postes d'abonnés IS-95. Des modes de réalisation de la présente invention permettent aux postes d'abonnés défectueux de fonctionner sur des réseaux d'accès construits à la fois selon la norme IS-95 et la norme IS-2000.
