An image encoding apparatus comprises a first selecting part that selects, from among a plurality of predetermined prediction orders, a prediction order for a plurality of sub-blocks obtained by dividing each of pixel blocks into which the frame of an input image signal has been divided; a second selecting part that selects the number of prediction modes, which are used for the prediction of a first prediction signal, from among a plurality of prediction modes specifying methods of referring to encoded pixels when referring to the encoded pixels to generate the first prediction signal of each sub-block; a third selecting part that selects the selected number of prediction modes, which are used for the prediction of the first prediction signal, from among the plurality of prediction modes; a generating part that uses the selected number of selected prediction modes to generate the first prediction signal in the selected prediction order so as to generate a second prediction signal corresponding to a pixel block; and an encoding part that encodes a predicted-residual signal representative of the difference between the image signal of the pixel block and the second prediction signal so as to generate an encoded data based on the prediction encoding.
L'invention concerne un appareil de codage d'image comportant une première partie de sélection sélectionnant, à partir d'une pluralité d'ordres de prédiction prédéterminés, un ordre de prédiction pour plusieurs sous-blocs obtenus par division de chaque bloc de pixels résultant de la division de la trame d'un signal d'image d'entrée ; une seconde partie de sélection sélectionnant le nombre de modes de prédiction utilisés pour la prédiction d'un premier signal de prédiction choisis parmi une pluralité de modes de prédiction spécifiant des procédés pour se référer à des pixels codés lorsqu'on se réfère à des pixels codés pour générer le premier signal de prédiction de chaque sous bloc ; une troisième partie de sélection sélectionnant le nombre sélectionné de modes de prédiction utilisés pour la prédiction du premier signal de prédiction, parmi une pluralité de modes de production ; une partie de génération utilisant le nombre sélectionné de modes de prédiction sélectionnés pour générer le premier signal de prédiction dans l'ordre de prédiction sélectionné afin de générer un second signal de prédiction correspondant à un bloc de pixel ; et une partie de codage codant le signal résiduel de prédiction représentatif de la différence entre le signal d'image du bloc de pixel et le second signal de prédiction afin de générer des données codées sur la base du codage de prédiction.
