The method of estimating systolic and mean pulmonary artery pressures of a patient, comprising the steps of (a) producing an electric signal xs(t) representative of heart sounds of the patient; (b) extracting second heart sound S2(t) from the signal produced in step (a); (c) extracting pulmonary and aortic components P2(t) and A2(t) from S2(t); (d) extracting a signal representative of mean cardiac interval; (e) correlating the pulmonary and aortic components P2(t) and A2(t) to obtain a cross correlation function; (f) measuring a splitting interval of the cross correlation function obtained in step (e); (g) producing a normalized splitting interval; and (h) estimating the systolic and mean pulmonary artery pressures by means of predetermined regressive functions. The present invention also relates to an apparatus for estimating systolic and mean pulmonary artery pressures of a patient.
La présente invention concerne un procédé permettant d'estimer la pression systolique et la pression artérielle pulmonaire d'un patient, comportant les étapes suivantes: (a) la génération d'un signal électrique x¿s?(t) représentatif des bruits du coeur du patient; (b) l'extraction d'un deuxième bruit du coeur S¿2?(t) à partir du signal généré à l'étape (a); l'extraction de composants pulmonaire et aortique P¿2?(t) et A¿2?(t) à partir de S¿2?(t); (d) l'extraction d'un signal représentatif d'un intervalle cardiaque moyen; (e) la corrélation des composants pulmonaire et aortique P¿2?(t) et A¿2?(t) en vue d'obtenir une fonction de corrélation croisée; (f) la mesure de l'intervalle de division de la fonction de corrélation croisée obtenue à l'étape (e); (g) la production d'un intervalle de division normalisé; et (h) l'estimation des pressions systoliques et artérielle pulmonaire moyenne par des fonctions régressives prédéterminées. La présente invention concerne également un appareil permettant d'estimer les pressions systolique et artérielle pulmonaire moyenne d'un patient.
