A method for determining whether a body structure of a patient comprising a muscular wall member formed of smooth muscle tissue (e.g., the urinary bladder) is functioning normally or abnormally comprises: (i) measuring the micromotion of the muscular wall member; (ii) generating a parameter characteristic of the state of the body structure based on the measured micromotion; and (iii) comparing the parameter with a predetermined performance scale to determine whether the body structure is experiencing normal or abnormal function. The method may be effected by the use of a specialized probe.
Ce procédé permet de déterminer si une structure organique d'un patient, comprenant une paroi formée de tissus musculaires lisses (par exemple la vessie urinaire) fonctionne normalement ou anormalement. Selon ce procédé, (i) on mesure la micromobilité de la paroi musculaire; (ii) on génère un paramètre caractéristique de l'état de la structure organique en fonction de la micromobilité ainsi mesurée; et (iii) on compare ce paramètre avec une échelle prédéterminée de performances afin de déterminer si la structure organique a un fonctionnement normal ou anormal. On peut mettre en oeuvre ce procédé en utilisant une sonde spéciale.
