In a non-round container forming machine (10) having a device for receiving and delivering flat container wall blanks (74) to a wrapping station (240), at which the blanks are wrapped around a non-round mandrel (238). The non-round mandrel has a front end facing the blank. The blank is aligned substantially tangential to the mandrel when delivered to the wrapping station. A wing slide assembly (232, 234, 236), within the wrapping station, moves linearly along opposite sides of the mandrel in a wrapping direction substantially perpendicular to the blank to fold the blank along opposite sides of the mandrel. A forward wing clamp assembly (232, 234, 236), within the wrapping station, is mounted proximate a rear end of the mandrel to move pivotally to engage and direct outermost portions of opposite ends of the blank in an overlapping relation against the mandrel to form a side seam. The containers are removed from the mandrel with an extractor plate which physically engages the containers upper edge.
L'invention concerne une machine de formage (10) de récipients non ronds dotée d'un dispositif destiné à recevoir et à envoyer des flans plats (74) de paroi de récipient à un poste d'enroulement (240) au niveau duquel les flans sont enroulés autour d'un mandrin non rond (238). Le mandrin non rond présente une extrémité frontale faisant face au flan. Le flan est aligné sensiblement de manière tangente au mandrin lorsqu'il est amené au poste d'enroulement. Un ensemble coulissant à ailettes (232, 234, 236), situé à l'intérieur du poste d'enroulement, se déplace linéairement le long de côtés opposés du mandrin dans un sens d'enroulement sensiblement perpendiculaire au flan de sorte que ce dernier soit plié le long des côtés opposés du mandrin. Un ensemble avant de fixation à ailettes (232, 234, 236), situé à l'intérieur du poste d'enroulement, est monté à proximité d'une extrémité arrière du mandrin, de façon à pivoter pour venir en contact avec les parties les plus à l'extérieur des extrémités opposées du flan et à mettre ces dernières en position de chevauchement contre le mandrin et former une couture latérale. Les récipients sont ensuite enlevés du mandrin à l'aide d'une plaque d'extraction qui vient en contact physique avec le bord supérieur des récipients.
