The apparatus includes a supporting struc- ture including a guide extending therealong, and a carriage guidably supported by the guide and including a drive for moving the carriage along the guide. A clamp, including first and second elements for selec- tively clamping the workpiece therebetween, is coupled to the carriage assembly for movement with the carriage. The first and second elements are movably engaged to a workpiece held therebetween for moving the workpiece with respect to the clamp. 1.
