ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A method and apparatus for forming a power transmission belt wherein an uncured belt sleeve is formed in situ on an expansible portion of a mandrel. The mandrel, with the belt sleeve provided thereon, is disposed coaxially within a radially inwardly grooved mold. The uncured belt sleeve is urged rad- ially outwardly into the grooved surface of the mold by expansion of the mandrel and curing of the belt sleeve retained in association with the mold groove is effected to complete forming of the cured belt structure. The cured belt structure is readily re- moved from the apparatus for further processing, such as for dividing the wide cured belt structure into individual multirib belts or individual V-belts, as desired.
