A driving method of the present invention drives a semiconductor laser which is provided with at least first and second electrodes through each of which current is injected into the semiconductor laser. Varying current is injected through the first electrode when the frequency of the varying current is in a high frequency band. Varying current is injected through the first electrode while phase-shifted current, whose phase is shifted relative to the varying current, is injected through the second electrode, when the frequency of the varying current is in a low frequency band which is lower than the frequency of the high frequency band. Feedback-control may be performed for controlling a ratio between amplitudes of the modulation current and the phase-shifted current based on a light output from the semiconductor laser. The varying current includes at least modulation current modulated according to a predetermined signal or negative feedback current produced by an electric signal obtained by detecting fluctuation of oscillation wavelength of a light output from the semiconductor laser. Thus, an optical signal radiated from the laser can be desirably stabilized over a wide frequency band range.
L'invention porte sur une méthode de commande d'un laser à semiconducteur pourvu d'au moins une première et une deuxième électrodes par lesquels est injecté un courant dans le laser à semiconducteur. Un courant variable est injecté dans la première électrode lorsque la fréquence du courant variable est comprise dans une bande à haute fréquence. Un courant variable est injecté dans la première électrode pendant qu'un courant déphasé, dont la phase est déphasée par rapport au courant variable, est injecté dans la deuxième électrode, lorsque la fréquence du courant variable est comprise dans une bande à basse fréquence qui est plus basse que la fréquence de la bande à haute fréquence. Le contrôle de rétroaction peut être effectué pour contrôler un ratio entre les amplitudes du courant de modulation et le courant déphasé grâce à une émission lumineuse du laser à semiconducteur. Le courant variable comprend au moins un courant de modulation modulé d'après un signal préétabli ou un courant à réaction négative produit par un signal électrique obtenu par la détection de la fluctuation d'oscillation de longueur d'onde d'une émission lumineuse provenant du laser à semiconducteur. Ainsi, un signal optique émis du laser peut être stabilisé de façon souhaitable sur une vaste gamme de bandes de fréquences.
