A mineral flotation device used for separating fine particles of hydrophobic minerals from a ground ore pulp by making them attach to air bubbles inside a vertical cylindrical column into which a mixture of air and said ore pulp is pumped either tangentially or axially at the bottom. Tangential pumping generates a centrifugal force field which facilitates the formation of air bubbles and subsequent bubble-particle attachments. With axial pumping, air bubbles are produced either by letting the said mixture impinge on a baffle uponentry into the said cylindrical column or by pumping the said mixture through a nozzle. The froth products formed from bubble-particle aggregates are removed by various means depending on the type of application and the desired outcome. Fast flotation is obtained by immediate discharge of the froth formed. Clean froth products are obtained by passing the froth through an expanded or wide froth column and through a magnetic field.
