To impede the counterfeiting of a valuable instrument (100a) (e.g., a cash card, negotiable instrument or any document), an issuance mark (1a) is formed on the instrument at a programmed distance (d) from a reference mark (111) located on the instrument (100a). The information pertaining to the distance (d) is encoded and written onto a storage medium (122) located in the instrument (100a). In a particular system embodying the invention, a card vending machine (95a) is programmed to encode cards with various parameters, such as the distance (d) between the reference (111) and issuance marks (1a), by writing the parametric information into an information storage medium (122) located in the card. As a corollary, in a particular system embodying the invention, a dispensing machine (95a) is programmed to read the information stored in the information storage medium (122) and the parametric information present in the card (100a) and to then compare the stored information with the values of the actual parameters present in the card.
Afin d'empêcher la contrefaçon d'un instrument de valeur (100a) (par exemple une carte de crédit, un instrument négociable ou tout autre document), on forme une marque d'émission (1a) sur l'instrument, à une distance programmée (d) à partir d'une marque de référence (111) située sur l'instrument (100a). Dans un système particulier mettant en oeuvre l'invention, on programme une machine de vente (95a) de cartes, afin qu'elle code les cartes à l'aide de divers paramètres, tels que la distance (d) entre la marque de référence (111) et la marque d'émission (1a), en écrivant les informations paramétriques sur un support de stockage d'informations (122) situé dans la carte. En corollaire de ce système de l'invention, on programme une machine distributrice (95a) pour qu'elle lise les informations stockées dans le support de stockage d'informations (122) et les informations paramétriques présentes sur la carte (100a), puis qu'elle compare les informations stockées avec les valeurs des paramètres réels présents dans la carte.
