Method and apparatus for producing a greeting card or merchandising item. An electrocardiogram wave is obtained from a user, digitized through a processor and stored in a computer. The electrocardiogram is passed to an output device and applied to the greeting card or merchandising item. A printed message may also be applied to the greeting card or the card may be preprinted prior to application of the electrocardiogram to the card. A monitor may display a virtual image of the card with the selection of the electrocardiogram and the position of the selected message on the card prior to actually printing the electrocardiogram and message on the card.
Méthode et appareil de fabrication d'une carte de voeux ou d'un article de marchandisage. On obtient de l'utilisateur une onde d'électrocardiogramme qui est numéralisée par un processeur et sauvegardée dans un ordinateur. L'électrocardiogramme passe par une unité de sortie et est appliqué sur la carte de voeux ou l'article de marchandisage. Un message imprimé peut aussi être appliqué sur la carte, ou celle-ci peut être réimprimée avant l'application de l'électrocardiogramme sur la carte. Un moniteur peut afficher une image virtuelle de la carte représentant l'électrocardiogramme choisi et la position du message sélectionné avant d'imprimer effectivement l'électrocardiogramme et le message sur la carte.
