The present invention relates to an apparatus, which can be part of a pretreatment (101) system in a plant for the production of fuels derived from plant biomass, e. g. first generation crops, such as grain, sugarcane and corn or second generation crops such as lignocellulosic biomass. The apparatus has the function of in- feeding and dewatering biomass so as to control water content in biomass before the dewatered biomass is introduced into a process reactor (215) in a plant for the production of, for example, bio-ethanol. The in-feeding and dewatering processes are carried out at a pressure higher than or equal to the pressure inside the process reactor (215) providing the advantage of a fluid tight sealing of the process reactor and facilitating its continuous feeding.
La présente invention concerne un appareil qui peut faire partie d'un système de prétraitement (101) dans une installation pour la production de carburants dérivés de biomasse végétale, par exemple de cultures de première génération, telles que des graines, du sucre de canne et du maïs, ou de cultures de seconde génération telles que de la biomasse lignocellulosique. L'appareil a pour fonction de distribuer et de déshumidifier la biomasse de façon à contrôler la teneur en eau dans la biomasse avant que la biomasse déshumidifiée ne soit introduite dans un réacteur de traitement (215) dans une installation pour la production, par exemple, de bioéthanol. Les processus d'alimentation et de déshumidification sont effectués à une pression supérieure ou égale à la pression à l'intérieur du réacteur de traitement (215) procurant l'avantage de l'étanchéité du réacteur de traitement et facilitant son alimentation continue.
