The hull (12) of a floating platform has at least one deck (14) for supporting drilling and/or produc-tion equipment above the surface of a body of water (16). A base node of the hull includes pontoons (18) extending ra-dially outwardly of the hull. The platform being secured to a sea bed by anchoring tendons (20) to the pontoons (18). A column extension (22), in the form of a closed cylinder, provides a buoyancy module (32) to the lower end of the hull (12). A mounting post (24) may be pre-installed about the periphery of the hull (12) in order to attach the buoy-ancy module (32) to the hull (12). Riser hangers (33), for attaching at least one riser or flow line (34) to the column extension/buoyancy module (22)/(32).
L'invention concerne un plateforme flottante destinée à extraire du pétrole et du gaz à partir de champs gaziers et pétrolifères marins. Cette plateforme comprend une coque munie d'une partie située sensiblement en dessous de la surface de l'eau et d'une partie se prolongeant au-dessus de la surface de l'eau. Ladite plateforme est ancrée au fond marin par un ou plusieurs tendons fixés à la base de la coque et au fond marin. La capacité de charge utile de cette plateforme flottante peut être augmentée sans reconception structurale de la coque par fixation d'une extension de colonne ou par montage d'un module de flottabilité amovible à l'extrémité inférieure de la coque, ce qui permet de satisfaire aux différentes exigences de charge utile de cette plateforme.
