There is disclosed a method and apparatus for successively and repeatedly illuminating a number of remote areas collectively defining a larger area with light in the form of a beam or beams to induce a physiological blink response or optical blink reflex in the illuminated eye of an animal (e.g., a human) within the area being illuminated. Each area being intermittently illuminated long enough to induce a blink response from an animal (e.g. human) subject there, after which another area(s) is illuminated in the meantime while illumination of the initial area is not required since the subject(s) there would still be recovering from their blink response.
La présente invention concerne un procédé et appareil pour éclairer de manière successive et répétée un nombre de zones distantes définissant collectivement une zone plus vaste avec une lumière sous forme d'un ou plusieurs faisceaux pour induire une réaction de clignement physiologique ou un réflexe de clignement optique dans l'AEil éclairé d'un animal (par ex., un être humain) à l'intérieur de la zone éclairée. Chaque zone est éclairée par intermittence suffisamment longtemps pour y induire une réaction de clignement d'un sujet animal (par ex., un être humain), suite à quoi une ou plusieurs autres zones sont éclairées entre temps tandis que l'éclairage de la zone initiale n'est pas requis étant donné que le ou les sujets se remettent encore de leur réaction de clignement.
