A video projector (6) shows the desired scene on a projection screen (3). An infrared source (7) close to the video projector uniformly floods the projection screen with non- visible infrared radiation. An infrared sensitive camera (5) observes the projection screen and sees only the uniform illumination of the screen. Upon entry of a subject (4) into the projected video image, the infraged reflected from the subject will not match that of the projection screen and thus the subject area is identified. All pixels of the projected scene, in the area occupied by the subject, are inhibited before reaching the video projector. The subject may then look directly at an audience without being blinded by the projector.
L'invention concerne un projecteur vidéo (6) qui montre la scène voulue sur un écran de projection (3). Une source infrarouge (7), à proximité du projecteur vidéo, inonde de manière uniforme l'écran de projection avec un rayonnement infrarouge invisible. Une caméra (5) sensible à l'infrarouge observe l'écran de projection et ne voit que l'éclairage uniforme de l'écran. Lorsqu'un sujet (4) entre dans l'image vidéo projetée, l'infrarouge réfléchi par le sujet ne correspondra pas à celui de l'écran de projection, ce qui permet d'identifier la zone sujet. Tous les pixels de la scène projetée, dans la zone occupée par le sujet, sont inhibés avant d'atteindre le projecteur vidéo. Le sujet peut alors regarder directement le public sans être aveuglé par le projecteur.
