A method of providing a pre-paid telephone calling card services to a calling party initiating a voice-based connection to a called party telephone using an internet-based IP Phone process running on a personal computer. The method comprises initiating an A-leg connection between the IP Phone process and an Internet Gateway utilizing a computer network connecting the personal computer and the Internet Gateway (402), establishing a telephone connection between the internet gateway and a SCP (step 403). Once this connection is established, the SCP transmits a request to the calling party through the IP Phone process to provide account and call information (step 404). The calling party responds with the requested account and call information using the IP Phone process (step 405). The Internet Gateway then transmits the information to the SCP using DTMF tones (step 406). The SCP responds by transmitting an account query from the SCP to verify account and balance information for the calling party (step 407). If the account data is successfully verified, B-leg connections are connected in order to establish the voice-based connection between the calling party and the called party (step 408).
L'invention concerne un procédé destiné à fournir des services de carte d'appel téléphonique à prépaiement à un appelant établissant une connexion vocale avec un téléphone d'appelé au moyen d'un processus téléphonique IP basé sur l'Internet fonctionnant sur un ordinateur personnel. Ce procédé consiste à établir une connexion de branche A entre le processus téléphonique IP et une passerelle Internet au moyen d'un réseau informatique connectant l'ordinateur personnel et la passerelle Internet, d'où l'établissement d'une connexion téléphonique entre la passerelle Internet et un PCS. Une fois cette connexion établie, le PCS transmet une demande vers l'appelant via le processus téléphonique IP en vue d'un acheminement d'informations de compte et d'appel. L'appelant répond avec les informations de compte et d'appel demandées au moyen du processus téléphonique IP. La passerelle Internet transmet alors les informations vers le PCS au moyen de tonalités DTMF. Le PCS répond par transmission d'une demande de compte à partir du PCS afin de vérifier les informations de compte et de solde pour l'appelant. Si les données de compte sont vérifiées avec succès, une connexion de branche B est établie entre le PCS et le téléphone de l'appelé, les connexions de branche A et de branche B étant alors connectées de façon à établir la connexion vocale entre l'appelant et le téléphone de l'appelé.
