A method for depositing a substance, or a mixture of substances, on fibres of a fibrous material, in particular of a mineral fibre material, wherein each substance, or a precursor material thereof, in gaseous state at a temperature above the temperature of the fibrous material is made to penetrate into the fibrous material, and which, preferably part thereof, is deposited on the fibres by condensation. The substance or the precursor material thereof may be mixed with a transport gas having a substantially lower dew point temperature than the substance so as to form a polynary gaseous mixture which is made to penetrate into the fibrous material, with the fibrous material being held at a temperature below the dew point temperature of the gaseous mixture so that part of the substance or the precursor material thereof is deposited on the fibres by condensation.

Ce procédé servant à déposer une substance ou un mélange de substances sur les fibres d'un matériau fibreux, notamment d'un matériau à base de fibres minérales, consiste à faire pénétrer dans le matériau fibreux chaque substance ou un matériau précurseur de celle-ci, à l'état gazeux, à une température supérieure à celle du matériau fibreux, ces substances, ou de préférence une partie de celles-ci, étant déposées sur les fibres par condensation. On peut mélanger la substance ou son précurseur avec un gaz de transport possédant un point de rosée sensiblement inférieur à celui de la substance de manière à former un mélange gazeux polynaire que l'on fait pénétrer dans le matériau fibreux, lequel est maintenu à une température inférieure au point de rosée du mélange gazeux afin qu'une partie de la substance ou du précurseur de celle-ci soit déposée sur les fibres par condensation.
