ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The invention relates to a seaming/unseaming tape (as well as to the method and apparatus for manufacturing the same) for use in either joining edges of sheet material in abutting relation or for separating joining tape from previously seamed sheet material edge portions. The seaming/unseaminy tape comprises an elongated strip of metal foil secured to a strip of backing material, the foil having a transverse dimension not greater than that of the backing material and a thickness whereby an electric current passed through the foil causes heating thereof to a temperature to at least soften a heat softenable adhesive on the sheet material joining tape.
