The present invention relates to a method of forming a layup of wood veneer sheets and an apparatus suited for implementing said method. In the method, each of the sheets (1) is first taken separately into a forward-feed position on a level situated above the layup (2). Next, the sheet is lowered with its tailing edge first onto an intermediate platform located above the desired laying point in the layup, and further therefrom, the sheet is lowered with its leading edge first onto the layup. The apparatus includes a conveyor (6) arranged to run as an endless loop. The conveyor is adapted to perform a continuous loop travel during the entire cycle of the sheet-laying sequence. The conveyor bars supporting the sheet are omitted from a given section of the conveyor loop thus facilitating a stepwise lowering of the sheet onto said intermediate platform, and therefrom, further onto the layup. The alignment of the sheet is accomplished by means of a tailing edge stop (4).
La présente invention vise une méthode utilisée pour former des feuillets de bois de placage ainsi que l'appareil utilisé pour mettre ladite méthode en oeuvre. Selon la méthode proposée, chacune des feuilles (1) composant le feuillet sont placées individuellement en position d'avancement au-dessus du feuillet (2). La feuille est descendue, rive arrière en premier, sur une plate-forme intermédiaire située au-dessus du point de pose voulu dans le feuillet. € partir de ce point, la feuille est abaissée, rive avant en premier, sur le feuillet. L'appareil comprend une bande transporteuse (6) sans fin configurée de manière à effectuer une course en boucle continue pendant la séquence complète d'application des feuilles. Une section donnée de la bande supportant la feuille ne comporte pas de barres, ce qui facilite l'abaissement graduel de la feuille sur ladite plate-forme intermédiaire, puis sur le feuillet. L'alignement de la feuille est réalisé au moyen d'une butée de rive arrière (4).
