A method and an apparatus for locking a load binder. The apparatus includes a metal cable having a first end and a second end. A male body is positioned at the first end and a female body positioned at the second end. The metal cable is extended through a chain and around a body and lever of a load binder, with the lever in a locked position. The male body is then inserted into the female body and secured in position. The positioning of the cable prevents the lever for the load binder from being moved from the locked position to a release position.
