ABSTRACT METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MAINTAINING A NOZZLE UNIT FOR APPLYING GLUE READY FOR OPERATION DURING STOPPAGES In a unit for applying cold glue, nozzle orifices for a selective discharge of glue tend to be clogged by set glue after a stoppage. In order to prevent a clogging of the glue discharge nozzles by set glue during short-time and prolonged stoppages so that the application of glue can subsequently be resumed immediately, the nozzle orifices are airtightly sealed in case of a short-time stoppage and are purged in case of a prolonged interruption of the application of glue.
