A method (fig. 1) of maintaining translation context for instructions translated from instructions designed for a target microprocessor to run on a host microprocessor including storing translation context related to each translated host instruction, indicating a translation context for host instructions presently being executed by the host processor, comparing (fig. 2) translation context stored for a next host instruction with the translation context for a host instruction presently being executed, executing the next host instruction if the translation context of the next host instruction and the presently executing host instruction compare, and searching (fig. 2) for an instruction with translation context which compares to the translation context of the host instruction presently executing if the translation context of the next host instruction and the presently executing host instruction do not compare.
L'invention se rapporte à un procédé (fig. 1) de conservation d'un contexte de traduction associé à des instructions traduites à partir d'instructions conçues pour un microprocesseur cible de sorte qu'elles puissent être exécutées sur un microprocesseur hôte. Ledit procédé consiste à sauvegarder le contexte de traduction associé à chaque instruction hôte traduite, à indiquer un contexte de traduction pour les instructions hôte en cours d'exécution par le processeur hôte, à comparer (fig.2) le contexte de traduction sauvegardé pour l'instruction hôte suivante au contexte de traduction associé à une instruction hôte en cours d'exécution, à exécuter l'instruction hôte suivante si le contexte de traduction de cette nouvelle instruction hôte est comparable au contexte de l'instruction hôte en cours d'exécution, et à rechercher (fig. 2) une instruction associée à un contexte de traduction qui soit comparable au contexte de traduction de l'instruction hôte en cours d'exécution si le contexte de traduction de l'instruction hôte suivante et celui de l'instruction hôte en cours d'exécution ne sont pas comparables.
