A creped tissue paper is made by creping a tissue paper from a drying cylinder with a creping doctor, receiving the creped web on a carrying fabric, carrying the creped web on the carrying fabric through a compression nip that compresses the web to substantially reduce its thickness and improve softness of the web, and carrying the creped, compressed web on the carrying fabric or a subsequent fabric to a reel-up.
Selon l'invention, on réalise un papier mince crêpé par crêpage d'un papier mince, sortant d'un cylindre de séchage, à l'aide d'un docteur crêpeur, la bande de papier crêpé étant ensuite reçue par une toile de transport qui la transporte à travers une zone de compression de sorte que la bande est comprimée pour que son épaisseur soit sensiblement réduite et que sa douceur soit améliorée. La bande crêpée comprimée est ensuite transportée sur la toile de transport ou sur une autre toile jusqu'à une enrouleuse.
