For producing and holding CO2 snow, first and second cylindrical horn connected to an open ended vertical discharge duct to form a generally Y-shaped continuous expansion chamber. First and second nozzles axially positioned at the tops of the snow horns have tangential fluid discharge passages which are mutually oppositely oriented to produce oppositely oriented spiral flows of CO2 snow within the snow horns. The. two oppositely oriented spiral flows meet in a mixing region where their spiral components are cancelled, leaving only a vertical component of motion so that the snow is discharged through the vertical discharge duct by gravity. The discharged snow can be stored in a snow receiving container without blowing or wastage.
Afin de produire et de contenir de la neige carbonique, un premier et un deuxième cornets cylindriques sont reliés à un conduit de décharge vertical ouvert de manière à constituer une chambre d'expansion continue prenant la forme générale d'un Y. Une première et une deuxième buses montées dans le sens axial sur le dessus des cornets à neige comportent des conduits tangentiels pour le passage de fluides, ces conduits étant orientés en opposition mutuelle de manière à produire des flux de neige carbonique spiralés opposés à l'intérieur des cornets à neige. Les deux flux spiralés opposés de neige se rencontrent dans une zone de mélange où les deux composantes de mouvement en spirale sont annulées, laissant place à une composante unique de mouvement vertical de manière que la neige soit déchargée par le conduit de décharge vertical sous l'effet de la gravité. La neige ainsi déchargée peut être emmagasinée dans un contenant à neige sans éclaboussure ni perte.
