ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The invention relates to a method for the production of a beverage from ground dry coffee powder, comprising inserting a measured portion of dry coffee powder in a closed chamber, said chamber being bounded at least in part by a water permeable filter material, dipping the chamber into hot water, and causing a pump-like current of water to traverse the chamber, for a time sufficient for a drinkable beverage.
