A CID management method and apparatus in a multi-hop relay BWA communication system are provided. A BS combines data destined for an RS and data to be relayed to an MS via the RS in a payload, distinguishing the data by CIDs, attaches a relay CID to the payload, and sends the payload with the relay CID to the RS. La présente invention concerne un procédé et un appareil de gestion des identifiants de connexions dans un système de communication à accès radio large bande ou BWA (Broadband Wireless Access). En l'occurrence, une station de base prend les données destinées à une station à distance et les combine aux données à relayer vers une station mobile en une charge utile via une station à distance, la distinction entre données se faisant sur la base des identifiants de connexions. La station de base appose à la charge utile un identifiant de connexion de relais, puis envoie à la station à distance la charge utile accompagnée de l'identifiant de connexion du relais. La station à distance prend ses données dans les données de charge utile et les traite. La station à distance se base ensuite sur les identifiants de connexions pour retrouver les données destinées à la station mobile et les lui relayer.
