A method and apparatus for adaptively managing communication latency, including processing one or more data frames in a communication network; sampling the one or more data frames in accordance with a first sampling time; interpolating the sampled one or more data frames; and forming a play-out waveform using the one or more data frames and having a predetermined length in time. The one or more data frames can be one or more vocoder frames and a play-out time of the one or more vocoder frames is different than the original sampling time.
Cette invention concerne un procédé et un appareil de gestion adaptative de temps d'attente de communication, lequel procédé consiste à traiter une ou plusieurs trames de données dans un réseau de communication; à échantillonner la ou les trames de données selon un premier temps d'échantillonnage; à interpoler la ou les trames de données échantillonnées; et à former une forme d'onde de représentation à l'aide de la ou des trames de données, ladite forme d'onde présentant une longueur déterminée dans le temps. Le ou les trames de données peuvent être une ou plusieurs trames de vocodeur et un temps de représentation de la ou des trames de vocodeur est différent du temps d'échantillonnage d'origine.
