ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Method and apparatus for continuous hot rolling of a tubular blank over in inside mandrel as passed through successive driven groove rolling stands. The mandrel is moved axially in the same direction as the blank. The linear axial forward speed of the mandrel with respect to the speed of the blank ranges from approximately .72 to 1.3 times the linear speed of the blank. Such method and aparatus provides significant improvements in the rolling method.
