The present invention provides a method and an apparatus for treating particulate material, comprising a reaction chamber (34) tapering from an upper to a lower position, means (26) for directing a fluidizing gas into the bottom (14) of the reaction chamber and upwardly, so as to establish a fluidised bed of particulate matter, and a microwave energy source (18, 20) adapted to propagate microwave energy into the reaction chamber (34).

La présente invention concerne un procédé et un dispositif de traitement d'une matière particulaire, le dispositif comprenant une chambre de réaction (34) décroissant en dimension entre une partie supérieure et une partie inférieure, des moyens (26) servant à diriger un gaz de fluidisation dans le fond (14) de la chambre de réaction ainsi que vers le haut de celle-ci, afin d'établir un lit fluidisé de matière particulaire, ainsi qu'une source d'énergie hyperfréquence (18, 20) conçue pour propager de l'énergie hyperfréquence dans la chambre de réaction (34).
