A method and apparatus for modeling material handling systems for carrying discrete objects is disclosed which is capable of displaying models of a system in two, three, or four dimensions. The system is based on an existing program for modeling fluid flow networks, such as the piping design module of the CATIA CCPlant design package. All of the changes to pipe design program are made using tools present in that program, and no computer code needs to be modified.
La présente invention a pour objet une méthode et un système pour la modélisation de systèmes de manutention utilisés pour le transport d'objets discrets, qui est capable d'afficher les modèles de systèmes de manutention générés en deux, trois ou quatre dimensions. Le système fait appel à l'utilisation d'un programme existant pour la modélisation des réseaux d'écoulement des fluides (tel le progiciel CATIA CCPlant Design). Tous les changements apportés au programme de configuration des canalisations sont effectués à l'aide des outils compris dans ce programme et aucune modification des codes internes n'est nécessaire.
