A method and apparatus for mounting a picture in a frame. A first step involves providing a frame having a body with a picture mounting opening. A second step involves providing a rigid support having a first surface and a second surface. The support is just slightly smaller than the picture mounting opening to enable the support to fit within the picture mounting opening. A third step involves placing a picture on the first surface of the support. A fourth step involves securing a first component of a two component fastener to the second surface of the support. A fifth step involves securing a second component of the two component fastener to the frame in the picture mounting opening. A sixth step involves inserting the support into the picture mounting opening and mating the first component to the second component.
