ABSTRACT OF THE INVENTION A multi-line seismic survey system including a plurality of geophone arrays on each line. Each geophone array is individually addressable by a central control unit. Addressing of the individual geophone arrays is accomplished by means of a reference system. This refer- ence system also facilitates the monitoring of shotpoint location in reference to the multi-line system and further facilitates the accessing of individual geophone arrays in response to the seismic shotpoint.
