ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A method and an apparatus for thawing a frozen food by high frequency heating is disclosed. The thawing process is divided into at least four stages of execution. A high frequency wave output is predeter- mined for each stage, and the execution time of each stage is automatically computed by a function stored in a microcomputer with the weight of the food stuff as a parameter. These plurality of stages are executed thereby to realize a faster and satisfactory thawing of the frozen food stuff.
