A method includes transmitting a block of data from a remote unit to a hub station, as well as a notification message to notify the hub station of transmitting the block. The block is transmitted over a contention-type communication resource, and the notification message is transmitted over a first non-contention communication resource. The hub station receives the notification message, in response to which it determines whether the transmission of the block succeeded. The hub station transmits a response message to the remote unit to command the remote unit to transmit the block over a resource within a second non-contention communication resource if transmitting the block over the contention-type communication resource was unsuccessful. The remote unit becomes configured to communicate with the hub station using the second non-contention communication resource while other remote units of the system remain configured to communicate with the hub station using the contention-type communication resource.
La présente invention concerne un système de communication comprenant trois ressources de communication : un bloc d'accès de type conflit d'accès (112), un bloc d'accès sans conflit d'accès (114) et un deuxième bloc d'accès sans conflit appelé bloc réservé (110). Chaque fois qu'une unité éloignée (104) doit transférer un bloc de données vers une station pivot (100), elle envoie ce bloc via le bloc d'accès de type conflit (112). L'unité éloignée (104) envoie également un message de notification correspondant via le bloc réservé (110). Si la station pivot (100) reçoit le message de notification mais pas le bloc de données, elle envoie un message de réponse à l'unité éloignée (104) dans lequel elle désigne une ressource dans le bloc d'accès sans conflit (114). L'unité éloignée (104) envoie alors le bloc de donnée via la ressource désignée.
