Methods and apparatus for lithographic imaging without ablation function by irreversibly debonding intermediate printing-plate layers, thereby rendering at least the surface layer removable by cleaning to expose, in an imagewise pattern, an underlying layer having a different affinity for ink and/or an adhesive fluid for ink. In contrast to ablation-type systems, it is unnecessary to destroy a plate layer, thereby reducing power requirements and facilitating increased imaging speeds.

L'invention concerne des procédés et un appareil d'imagerie lithographique sans ablation, lesquels procédés consistent à décoller de façon irréversible des couches de plaques d'impression intermédiaires, ce qui rend détachable par nettoyage au moins la couche superficielle, de manière à rendre apparente, sous la forme d'un motif analogue à une image, une couche sous-jacente présentant une affinité différente à l'encre et/ou à un fluide anti adhésif pour encre. Contrairement aux systèmes de type à ablation, il n'est pas nécessaire de détruire une couche de plaque, ce qui réduit les besoins en énergie et permet de plus grandes vitesses d'imagerie.
