METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR NON-IMPACT PRINTING ABSTRACT A system of tuned response printing in which toners are tuned to match a pre-selected characteristic of electromagnetic energy or other agent produced by a controllable agent source. When a toner is exposed to that pre-selected characteristic of the agent, it imparts its toning feature to the substrate. The characteristic of the agent from the controllable source functions in selecting the specific type of toner to be printed.
