A method for operating a mass spectrome-ter includes determining a first performance characteristic while operating the mass spectrometer with a first electron emitter, storing first information relating to the first per-formance characteristic, determining a second perfor-mance characteristic while operating the mass spectrome-ter with a second electron emitter, storing second informa-tion relating to the second performance characteristic, and thereafter switching from operation using the first electron emitter to operation using the second electron emitter. The switching includes using the first and second information to normalize performance of the second electron emitter after the switching relative to performance of the first electron emitter before the switching.
La présente invention concerne un procédé de mise en uvre d'un spectromètre de masse. Ce procédé consiste à déterminer une première caractéristique de rendement pendant le fonctionnement du spectromètre de masse avec un premier émetteur d'électrons, à mettre en mémoire une première information se rapportant à la première caractéristique de rendement, à déterminer une seconde caractéristique de rendement pendant le fonctionnement du spectromètre de masse avec un second émetteur d'électrons, à mettre en mémoire une seconde information se rapportant à la seconde caractéristique de rendement, puis à basculer du fonctionnement utilisant le premier émetteur d'électrons au fonctionnement utilisant le second émetteur d'électrons. Le basculement implique l'utilisation de la première et de la seconde information pour normaliser le rendement du second émetteur d'électrons tel d'après basculement par rapport au rendement du premier émetteur d'électrons d'avant le basculement.
