A method of preparing a server is disclosed that supports a plurality of purchaser systems to transmit over the Internet orders for collectibles being offered for sale on a primary and a secondary market. The method starts by constructing at the server a purchaser history database (28). Then an initial placement of a number of lots of selected collectibles are offered for sale on the primary market. Next an account is created for each purchaser (10a, 10b) transmitting an order to the server (22). Each account includes a record of purchasing activity of its purchasers. Then, the lots of selected collectibles are allocated to the successful purchasers. Then at the direction of the successful purchasers, selected of the allocated collectibles are offered for sale on the secondary market. Orders are received from all of the purchasers who placed orders during offering for sale on the primary market and the offering for sale on the secondary market, and a record for each of the purchasers is created in the purchaser history database. The collectibles may comprise trading cards.
L'invention concerne un procédé de mis en oeuvre d'un serveur capable de gérer une pluralité de systèmes acheteurs destinés à transmettre, via l'Internet, des commandes relatives à des articles de collection mis en vente sur un marché primaire et sur un marché secondaire. Ledit procédé consiste tout d'abord à constituer au niveau du serveur une base de données (28) historique des acheteurs. Ensuite, on procède au placement initial d'un certain nombre de lots d'articles de collection choisis mis en vente sur le marché primaire. Un compte est alors créé pour chacun des acheteurs (10a, 10b) transmettant une commande au serveur (22). Chaque compte comprend un dossier relatifs à l'activité d'achat de ses acheteurs. Puis, les lots d'articles de collection choisis sont attribués aux acheteurs retenus, et certains de ces articles de collection attribués sont mis en vente sur le marché secondaire, à l'intention des acheteurs retenus. Le système selon l'invention reçoit les commandes émises par tous les acheteurs ayant passé commande lors de la mise à la vente sur le marché primaire et lors de la mise à la vente sur le marché secondaire, et un dossier pour chaque acheteur est créé dans la base de données historique des acheteurs. Lesdits articles de collection peuvent prendre la forme de cartes de collection.
