A method and Web site system for conducting credit checks and producing credit reports. The system contains prospect credit information against which queries will be executed based on search criteria provided from a user to the Web site system, and the results of such a query will then be transmitted back to the requesting party as a credit report. This will allow for efficient and affordable credit assessment to take place before new credit privileges are extended. It can be used by companies or individuals without large in-house accounting or computing resources to lessen their credit risk.
