Le centrage et l'alignement des fibres est assuré par des piges de centrage (63) introduites dans des ouvertures longitudinales d'une collerette solidaire d'un embout prolongateur (31) du support dié- lectrique (1), l'une au moins de ces ouvertures étant à une distance de l'axe du câble supérieure au rayon de celui-ci. L'invention s'applique à l'épissurage de câbles à fibres optiques du type à support cylindrique rainuré. FIGURE 8
