The invention relates to a method and apparatus for measuring and controlling optical properties of a moving web (2). Sensor heads (1a, 1b) are installed in the same location on the opposite sides of the web to be measured so that there is at least one means of illuminating (3a, 3b) the web and at least one means of detecting radiances (4a, 4b) on both sides of the web. At least one means of illuminating the web of at least one side is controlled so as to provide at least two different lighting states. Measuring the values in different lighting states with both means of detecting radiances simultaneously allows determination of the optical properties of the web on its both sides.

L'invention concerne un procédé et un appareil pour la mesure et la modulation des propriétés optiques d'une bande (2) en mouvement. Des têtes (1a, 1b) sont installées au même endroit, sur les côtés opposés de la bande à mesurer, de sorte qu'au moins un moyen d'illumination (3a, 3b) de la bande et au moins un moyen de détection des luminances énergétiques (4a, 4b) soient prévus des deux côtés de la bande. Au moins un moyen d'illumination de la bande d'au moins un côté est commandé de sorte qu'au moins deux état lumineux différents soient produits. La mesure des valeurs dans différents états lumineux, à l'aide simultanément des deux moyens de détection des luminances énergétiques, permet la détermination des propriétés optiques de la bande des deux côtés de celle-ci.
