ELECTROSTATIC ORIENTATION AND DEPOSITION OF LIGNOCELLULOSIC MATERIAL Abstract A continuous method and apparatus are disclosed for forming and electrostatically orienting mats of discrete par- ticles of lignocellulosic material on electrically non-conduc- tive transfer surfaces (31-36) and then transferring the direc- tionally oriented mats onto a grounded, moving, electrically conductive, mat-receiving surface (17) under the continuing influence of an electrostatic field without loss of orientation of the particles of lignocellulosic material making up the mats.
