The present invention relates to a method for oxidizing the pulverous fuel of a furnace, advantageously a flash smelting furnace, by means of a burner. The oxidation takes place mainly owing to an effective mixing of two different combustion gases, pulverous fuel and an optional supplementary fuel in the furnace. The combustion gases are conducted into the furnace in separate flows, so that oxygen is fed in through the center in an at least partly turbulent flow, and air is fed around the oxygen flow in several separate flows. The invention also relates to a burner for mixing and burning pulverous fuel and combustion gas in the furnace.

L'invention a trait à une méthode d'oxydation du combustible pulvérisé utilisé pour une chambre de combustion, plus particulièrement un four de grillage éclair. L'oxydation est surtout attribuable au mélange de deux gaz différents de combustion, du combustible pulvérisé et d'un combustible supplémentaire et optionnel dans le four. Les gaz de combustion sont amenés dans le four par des conduits d'écoulement différents, de sorte que l'oxygène est acheminé dans le centre par un écoulement en partie turbulent et de l'air est injecté autour de l'écoulement d'oxygène par plusieurs points d'arrivée distincts. L'invention a également trait à un brûleur servant à mélanger et à brûler le combustible pulvérisé et le gaz de combustion dans le four.
