The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for specifying new values for old parameters for controlling the operation of a mobile device with a network node or element in a network; and, more particularly, relates to a method and apparatus for mapping threshold values to a certain measurable parameter, and coding the threshold values in such a way that one part of the mapping is kept unchanged and another part of the mapping is changed in order to enable different interpretations by a mobile device of the certain measurable parameter, especially for controlling a cell reselection by the mobile device from a Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) to a Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) wireless network.
L'invention porte sur un procédé et un appareil permettant de substituer de nouvelles valeurs à d'anciens paramètres destinées à commander le fonctionnement d'un dispositif de téléphonie mobile associé à un noeud de réseau ou à un élément de réseau. Elle porte plus particulièrement sur un procédé et un appareil permettant de mettre en correspondance des valeurs seuil avec un certain paramètre mesurable et de coder ces valeurs seuil de manière à ce qu'une partie de la mise en correspondance ne soit pas modifiée et à ce qu'une autre partie de la mise en correspondance soit modifiée afin de permettre différentes interprétations par l'appareil de téléphonie mobile du paramètre mesurable, en particulier pour réguler la re-sélection cellulaire par le dispositif de téléphonie mobile depuis un système de communication GSM vers un réseau sans fil de type <= projet de partenariat de troisième génération >= 3GPP.
