A method and apparatus for passing network device operations between a source (110) and a target (106) network device which are associated with a mobile communication unit (112) in a radio communication system is provided. This passing of network device operations is accomplished by converting a first form of information to a second form in the source network device. Subsequently, the source and the target network device are notified that operations associated with the mobile communication unit will be passed at a particular time. At that particular time the information converting is bypassed such that the first form of information is provided to the target network device. In addition, the target network device begins to monitor incoming information for the first form of incoming information. In response to a presence of the first form of incoming information at the target network device, the first form of information is converted into the second form in the target network device.
L'invention concerne un procédé et un appareil permettant de transférer des opérations de dispositifs de réseau entre un dispositif réseau source (110) et un dispositif de réseau cible (106) associées à une unité de communication mobile (112) dans un système (112) de radiocommunications (112). Ce transfert d'opérations de dispositifs de réseau s'effectue par conversion d'une première forme d'informations en une seconde forme dans le dispositif de réseau source, après quoi les dispositifs de réseau source et cible sont informés que les opérations associées à l'unité de communication mobile seront transférées à un moment précis. A ce moment précis, la conversion d'informations est contournée et la première forme d'informations est envoyée au dispositif de réseau cible.
