An encapsulated liquid crystal layer (16) is patterned by placing a mask (20) into contact with a coated substrate (10). The mask is held against the substrate, for example, by a vacuum, to form a seal. The assembly is submerged in a solvent to dissolve the exposed region of the encapsulated liquid crystal material.
La présente invention concerne la réalisation d'un motif dans une couche de cristal liquide encapsulée (16). Le procédé consiste d'abord à mettre un masque (20) en contact avec un substrat enduit (10). Le procédé consiste à appliquer un masque contre le substrat, par exemple par dépression, à façon d'un timbre sec. Le procédé consiste ensuite à plonger l'ensemble dans un solvant afin de dissoudre les zones apparentes du matériau de cristal liquide encapsulé.
